Dumaguete is the capital city of Negros Oriental Province. This 3rd class city is also the most populous city in Negros Oriental. Dumaguete is one of the pride provinces of the Philippines. In fact, it was listed 5th in the Forbes Magazine's "7 Best Places to Retire Around the World." And recently, the Philippine Retirement Authority also awarded the city the Best Place to Retire in the Philippine for 2018. The City of Dumaguete is usually visited by a lot of foreign tourists. Its location makes it ideal to visit nearby province like the Island of Cebu. Moreover, the city also has a lot to offer for tourist attractions.

Dumaguete City is known for its beach resorts and diving site. Most travelers do not miss to check the city out for their adventure bucket list. Aside from these fun activities, the city attracts tourists also with Dolphin and Whale shark Watching tours.

The Dumaguete City Tours will let you experience why it was nicknamed The City of Gentle People. With the rolling city tours, tourists will learn more about the city and the locals. Each site visited also covers an interesting set of history. There are two tour packages under the Dumaguete City Tour. Tourists may opt for the Half Day Dumaguete City Tour or the Whole Day City Tour which includes a side trip of the chosen town!

TOUR NAME:  HALF DAY DUMAGUETE CITY TOUR
Visit various tourist attractions of the city that mark rich history. This Half Day Dumaguete City Tour also includes a rolling tour to seize your day. This is perfect for tourists who like to know more about Dumaguete.
  • The Silliman University Campus – the first Protestant University in the Philippines. The oldest American structure in the country, the Silliman Hall, is located here. The campus is also known as the first American University in Asia. It showcases the popular American buildings architecture in the late 19th century.
  • Rizal Boulevard – named after Dr. Jose Rizal. This tourist spot is more popular as a leisure spot of the locals. It is where people come to have a picnic with their families and or just hang-out. During festivals, the Rizal Boulevard turns into a place where parades, live music, and food stalls are present.
  • St. Catherine of Alexandria Church – commonly known as the Dumaguete Cathedral Church. It is originally built in the 1700s and known as the oldest stone church in Negros. It is a symbol and has witnessed the rich history and culture of the city.
  • Belfry of Dumaguete – the most significant landmark of the city and known as the University Town. It is also known as the Campanario de Dumaguete. It was one of the watchtowers built in the 1760s to monitor the movements of Moros.
  • Rolling City Tour – a rolling tour that will let you visit various places. It will start from the Public Market then to the Provincial Capitol. Across the capitol is the Aquino Freedom Park. Then, the tour will continue to the Clayton Pottery and will end at Sidlakang Negros.

  • Tour around Rizal Boulevard
  • Visit Sta Catalina de Alexandria Church & Belfry
  • Rolling Tour throughout Public Market – Provincial Capitol – Aquino Freedom Park – Claytown Pottery – Sidlakang Negros
10:00 AM – SIDETRIP
  • Proceed to Valencia
    • Visit Forest Camp
    • Visit Cataal War Museum
    • Return to Dumaguete; or
  • Proceed to Bacong
    • Visit San Agustin Church
    • Visit Negros Oriental Arts & Heritage
    • Return to Dumaguete
12:30 PM – LUNCH AT LAB-AS SEAFOODS
1:30 PM – TRANSFER BACK TO THE HOTEL

TOUR NAME:  WHOLE DAY DUMAGUETE CITY TOUR
Tourists may also opt to add a side trip of either the town of Valencia and or Bacong to complete their Dumaguete City Tour.
The Municipality of Valencia was voted as the greenest and town of the Negros Oriental Province in 2007. It is also known as The Little Baguio of Negros. Located at Valencia are various historical and eco-tourism sites.
  • Forest Camp – one of the most popular eco-tourism destination in Negros. The Camp boasts an enchanting tourism of nature. It has a canopy of tropical forest trees, a river, and various species of birds. Most tourists also stop by at this place to dine at its restaurant that serves delicious Filipino dishes.
  • Cataal War Museum – lies here is the history of American-Japanese settlers in Negros Oriental. The museum houses a large number of antiques and historical wonders of Negros.
