The Dumaguete City Tours will let you experience why it was nicknamed The City of Gentle People. With the rolling city tours, tourists will learn more about the city and the locals. Each site visited also covers an interesting set of history. There are two tour packages under the Dumaguete City Tour. Tourists may opt for the Half Day Dumaguete City Tour or the Whole Day City Tour which includes a side trip of the chosen town!

TOUR NAME:  HALF DAY DUMAGUETE CITY TOUR

Visit various tourist attractions of the city that mark rich history. This Half Day Dumaguete City Tour also includes a rolling tour to seize your day. This is perfect for tourists who like to know more about Dumaguete.

• The Silliman University Campus – the first Protestant University in the Philippines. The oldest American structure in the country, the Silliman Hall, is located here. The campus is also known as the first American University in Asia. It showcases the popular American buildings architecture in the late 19th century.

• Rizal Boulevard – named after Dr. Jose Rizal. This tourist spot is more popular as a leisure spot of the locals. It is where people come to have a picnic with their families and or just hang-out. During festivals, the Rizal Boulevard turns into a place where parades, live music, and food stalls are present.

• St. Catherine of Alexandria Church – commonly known as the Dumaguete Cathedral Church. It is originally built in the 1700s and known as the oldest stone church in Negros. It is a symbol and has witnessed the rich history and culture of the city.

• Belfry of Dumaguete – the most significant landmark of the city and known as the University Town. It is also known as the Campanario de Dumaguete. It was one of the watchtowers built in the 1760s to monitor the movements of Moros.

• Rolling City Tour – a rolling tour that will let you visit various places. It will start from the Public Market then to the Provincial Capitol. Across the capitol is the Aquino Freedom Park. Then, the tour will continue to the Clayton Pottery and will end at Sidlakang Negros.

The Balinsasayao Twin Lakes is one of the most popular natural parks in the country. These two lakes are situated the Cuernos de Negros mountain range. Located in the town of Siaton is the Lake Balanan. It is a freshwater lake situated in a forested mountain. The lake is fed by the Lamarao, Balanan, and Managobsak Creeks. Fun fact, Lake Balanan is formed by a tectonic earthquake with a magnitude 6.8.

The Casaroro Falls is located at the town of Valencia. The waterfall is about a 100 feet and is concealed at the foot of Mount Talinis. From the top of Mount Talinis falls a cold water flowing from its springs. The highlight of Casaroro Falls is its narrow smooth yet forceful drop of water to its deep natural pool.

TOUR NAME:  SIQUIJOR ISLAND TOUR

Siquijor Island is definitely a mystical island. The locals claimed it the Island of Fire. This is because of the swarms of fireflies that produces eye-catching luminescence in the Molave trees. The island excursion starts with a rolling city tour where historical sites are included. Then visit the Cambugahay Falls and end it on the sandy white beach of Salagdoong. If time permits, tourists may also make a side trip to Paliton Beach.

5:30 AM – Depart Dumaguete for Siquijor

6:30 AM –  Meet and greet your guide in the Siquijor Port. Proceed to the Island Tour.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

SIQUIJOR CHURCH AND BOULEVARD – This church, St. Francis of Assissi church, is one of the most photographed attractions in the area. It is located just outside the port of the island. Its structure is carved from coral stones. This church has been standing on the island for centuries. 

PALITON BEACH – The beach has been touted to be the island’s most beautiful beach. The beach is best viewed during Golden Hour. It is four (4) km from San Juan to the Tambisan Port. During high tide, you can play in the small pools. 

SAN JUAN DE CAPILAY SPRING – The spring is a good place; it is located just by the road. The spring has two (2) pools. Food is accessible here, with some stores lining the pool. The food here can range from local dishes to street food. Lifeguards are also here. Watch out for the live bands here. 

BALETE TREE FISH FOOT SPA – This spot is a luxury. This famed balete tree is over a thousand (1000) years old. The more sinister aspect of the balete tree plays a big role in Filipino folklore and urban legends. 

ISIDORE DE LABRADORE CHURCH AND CONVENT – The church and convent are also called the Lazi Church and Convent. Acacia trees as old as the church surround it. The convent is built in the shape of a U. It is said to the country’s largest convent – or perhaps even in Asia. Back in the olden days, the convent was a home to monks. Nowadays, it serves as the residence of the parish priest. 

CAMBUGAHAY FALLS – The falls boasts of beautiful, clear water and a wonderful view. The waterfall is three-tied. A set of concrete steps lead down to these falls. The trip down will only take you five to ten (5-10) minutes. There are no restaurants and stalls here. 

SALAGDOONG BEACH – The beach is among the most popular ones in Baler. It is a public beach. This location is good for a try at cliff-diving. On its waves beneath are a boosting marine life and crystal waters, lined with pristine, white sand. 

TRIAD CAFE – If you come across this cafe, go order the halu-halo. Its halu-halo is its specialty. Don’t worry; the cafe is vegetarian-friendly. The location offers a great view of the sea if you dine from an elevated height. The prices for the food are easy on the wallet.
